Abstract

To study the effect of laboratory and standard germination on characteristics three types winter(Sabalan , Sardari) , spring(Bayat , Moghan1) , intermediate(Bezostaia , Alborz) wheat. Twenty five seeds of each cultivar were placed in a strile Petri-dish. Analyzing has been preformed in a randomized complete blocks design, in three replication. The results of bioassays indicated that length of radical, length of first leaf and length of coleoptile in winter types were more than other types. But length of total leaves and shoots dry weight of winter types more than other types. Therefore, characteristics selected above to classify winter an intermediate types was better than spring types.

Introduction and review the references:

Production and survival of plants depends largely on their adaptation to perimeter factors. Present crops, as alleged, were originally wild plants which under went gradual changes as a result of farming operation. One specific case which deserves to be investigated more than usual are that winter, spring, intermediate (semi-winter and semi-spring) types with their different cultivars of wheat. We can provide the background to grow and develop them further by identifying them. In this trial, the said types were shown to be under desirable and normal controlled as control for 21% of intermediate growth type and 64% of winter growth type. Survey of Roostaee and that made by our friends and colleagues (1999) indicated that Sardari and Sabalan cultivars with their coleoptile length, root length, caulicle length and more weight of shoot can influence their adaptation to dry farming conditions of cold and moderate regions. Sadeghzadeh, et (1999) have shown that there is a significant difference between the lengths of coleoptile among the types of wheat.

Materials and methods:

This test was preformed by selecting three types of wheats , two cultivars of each type consisting of Sardari and Sabalan cultivars for winter type, semi-winter Bezostaya and semi-spring Alborz for intermediate type and Bayat and Moghan1 cultivars for spring type with cultivation in Petri –dish in laboratory in the form of randomized complete blocks design with three repetitions. Twenty five grains of uniform seed of every cultivar were grown in sterile Petri-dish so that the production of several trial leaves continues and any contamination would be prevented. This measurement was made by using standard method. After complete recovery of data, analysis of variance and means comparisons were conducted by using respectively MSTATC method and Duncan`s test for six cultivars.

Results and discussion:

As a result, winter type and intermediate type were located in same group for 8 characters among studied 14 characters but spring type and winter type were located in same group. But spring cultivars only for studied 4 characters with winter cultivars were located in same group. Bezostaya semi-winter cultivar (intermediate type) was located a same group for 10 characters with winter type and for 6 characters with spring type. Therefore Bezostaya semi-winter cultivar (intermediate type) and winter cultivars show same reflection in many characteristic. But semi-spring cultivar (Alborz) located in a same group with spring type for 10 characters and also with winter type for 6 characters .The result was that totally, the intermediate type generally responded to spring type for the sake of many characters it had while if the cultivars of intermediate types is considered, semi-winter cultivars have a large number of common with that of winter cultivars and semi-winter cultivars. It is necessary to compare the semi-winter and semi-spring cultivars, intermediate type because they have common responses and with other types so that the areas under cultivation should become fitted particularly they have two cultivation periods of time such as those of winter and spring.
