Considerably more than a 'Society' website offering a very wide range of information, news, services and business aids including software, farm output prices, weather forecasts and so much more.  Conferences and local links provided.  Membership includes a bi-monthly newsletter.  Purchases can be made from the site.

A choice of English and French language websites, and there are sister websites dealing with farm succession.  Worth making a visit just for the breadth of coverage, including CBC news articles from around the agricultural world.

The Agricultural Economics Society is one of the world’s leading associations of professional and academic agricultural economists. The International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE)

The IAAE is a worldwide confederation of agricultural economists and others concerned with agricultural economic problems, including problems related to the use of renewable resources and the environment. Its broad goal is to “make a difference” through:

◊ Advancing knowledge of agriculture’s economic organization.

The New Agriculturalist Magazine (free)

This is a most informative and wide-ranging magazine on agriculture worldwide, but with a definite leaning towards developing countries. The magazine has sections on the current relevant news, points of view by guest authors, “focus on” section, perspective, book reviews, photo reports, worldwide conference diary, development reports, useful country profiles (a different country each issue), download facilities, very good search facility and back issues section. There is no subscription and you can sign up for email notification when a new issue is published. Excellent, well worth a visit!

INTERNATIONAL FARM MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION
The IFMA's principle activity is to run Congresses every second year in a different country. Delegates come from a wide spectrum of people involved in farm management and it's related disciplines - farmers, farm managers, extension service advisors, consultants, academics, economists, bankers and other service providers. The first congress was held in 1971 in the UK, and the 15th will be held in Brazil in August 2005. Future congresses are being arranged in Ireland in 2007 and in the USA in 2009.
